State Doc Pick of the Week: Venomous snakes of North Carolina

This week’s State Doc Pick of the week is a publication created by the North Carolina State Museum of Natural Sciences.

This guide provides basic information and diagrams about the venomous snakes of North Carolina so that residents are able to identify these snakes.    Venomous snakes covered in this guide include the Eastern Coral snake, the Copperhead, the Cottonmouth, the Pigmy Rattlesnake, the Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake, and the Timber Rattlesnake.  Included in the guide is a description of each snake as well as the location of the snake, pictures, additional resources that can be consulted for more information, information on snake safety, and what to do if your bitten by a snake.
