This week we are highlighting the Legislative Research Commission Advisory Subcommittee on Offshore Energy Exploration’s Final Report to the Legislative Commission. Published only weeks after the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the report concluded, among many things, that North Carolina holds “potentially significant” offshore energy resources, but that challenges must be addressed before North Carolina will see significant revenues or jobs from offshore energy. This important state publication can help with understanding the future of North Carolina’s energy economy and can be found at http://digital.ncdcr.gov/cdm4/document.php?CISOROOT=/p249901coll22&CISOPTR=57644&REC=2 where it can be downloaded, printed, and/or saved for free.
